2021 Budget Assembly
Join us for our 2021 Budget Assembly.
This assembly follows on from the organising we did around the Maroonprint for Queensland Reconstruction in 2020. We will be building on the commitments we won last year, and working to ensure that they're locked in, in the 2021 budget, due on 15 June.
1000 community leaders will assemble online and in person to share stories and gain commitments from Deputy Premier Steven Miles on issues that matter to our Alliance.
Deputy Premier Steven Miles will participate in the Assembly and address the Alliance budget priorities:
- Delivery of funding for workplace rights education for CALD communities.
- Emergency funding boost for community centres facing a tsunami of need due to Covid19 and the end of Job Keeper.
- Increased investment a just transition of our energy system including $2 billion in transmission and
storage, a transparent transition plan, and $300 million additional funding to progress Renewable Energy Zones and Renewable Energy Industry Precincts to create thousands of good, secure and lasting jobs.
You can read about our policy asks in more detail here.
As organised civil society we want to see a recovery from the Covid19 pandemic that responds to the needs of Queensland and Queenslanders.
