Friends of the Alliance

Support the Common Good in Queensland

We are inviting individuals, businesses, and community partners to join us as
Friends of the Queensland Community Alliance.
Your contribution helps bring our shared values to life in public, builds deep relationships across difference, and strengthens the leadership needed to tackle the common problems we can only solve together.

Whether you support our organising work directly or give through our charity partner, every contribution helps us grow a Queensland where everyone can flourish.

WAYS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE COMMON GOOD

1. Give directly to the Queensland Community Alliance Organising Fund

(Contributions to QCA are not tax-deductible, as we are not a DGR.)

Direct contributions sustain the core organising work of our Alliance. They help fund community organisers to go “upriver”  working with institutions and leaders to address problems at their source and create durable, systemic change.

How your support helps

Your contribution enables us to:

  • Build strong relationships across diverse civil society groups

  • Develop leaders prepared for long-term action

  • Bring people together across difference to take action for the Common Good

Benefits for individuals

Individuals who give regularly to the Organising Fund are invited to major actions and can access our introductory 2-Day Foundations Training course.

Partnership opportunities for businesses & organisations

We commit to understanding your organisation’s values and priorities, and to developing a partnership that aligns with your objectives and strengthens your community impact.

Information about tax-deductible giving

What are the tax benefits?

When you donate $2 or more to a charity with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, you may be able to claim that amount as a deduction on your tax return and reduce your taxable income.

To qualify, the donation must be a genuine gift with no material benefit in return. You’ll need a receipt to claim it.

What isn’t tax-deductible?

  • Raffle tickets, auction bids, or event entries

  • Gifts of goods or services (e.g. clothing, furniture, time)

  • Donations to individuals or non-DGR crowdfunding campaigns

  • Gifts to overseas organisations not registered as DGRs in Australia

How to claim a tax-deductible donation

  1. Check the organisation is a DGR (ACOF is).

  2. Make your donation.

  3. Keep your receipt.

  4. Claim it when you lodge your tax return.
