Why we care about a Better NDIS

A quality NDIS would see people with a disability, who've been pushed to the margins, supported to be central players in our community life.  It's about independence and choice.  They're things we all believe in.

But we need it to work!  We need to make sure the most marginalised aren't further marginalised.  We need to make sure there's equitable access instead of a lucky dip.  We need to make sure that workers providing support can have decent secure jobs and quality training.

We need to exercise people power so that whoever is our next MP has committed to work with us for those outcomes.

That's why we're acting together.  Will you join us? 

We care about social isolation

We've heard from too many people in Mt Gravatt and surrounding suburbs who are isolated and disconnected from community.  We know that when people are gathered together with similar aspirations and interests they are healthier, happier and able to flourish.

Thanks to our organising we have the potential to address this with Australia's first social prescribing network.  It's gaining momentum but we all need to be part of the solution in our community.
