Townsville Election Assembly

Join Community Leaders from across the Townsville region to negotiate publicly with those who are vying to be our next elected representatives. 

We will be connecting and sharing stories about issues raised in our listening campaigns. 

We will present positive solutions developed by our Alliance in the areas of "Safe and Connected Communities" and "Real Jobs for a Real Future." 

And we will then negotiate commitments from MPs and Candidates to act on these solutions. Specifically, we'll be asking for: 1. Increased funding for community centres; and 2. Reduced electricity bills through renewable energy. 

As we recover from the ongoing Covid19 crisis there has never been a more important time for building a fairer, more sustainable and thriving Queensland full of opportunity for everyone.

We need to capitalise on the strengths that have underpinned our response to the health crisis, while responding to the problems this crisis has revealed.

As organised civil society we want to see this achieved in a way that responds to the needs of Queensland and Queenslanders.
