The impacts of unemployment are huge and lasting, as a country we need to unite to avoid mass unemployment.

Guaranteeing up to 80% of the median wage will save jobs and businesses.  We urge the government to help people stay in work and connected to an employer, not wait until people are queuing outside Centrelink.

We're supporting the call by ACTU and Qld Council of Unions to introduce this essential policy now.  It can be implemented and administered quickly through Australian Tax Office. 

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has done this, along with similar schemes is Ireland, Denmark, Netherlands, NZ and South Korea. Australian workers and businesses deserve the same support.
