This is an extraordinary opportunity to learn the craft of community organising, that opens up the potential career of training and developing community for the common good.

You will build relationships with faith, union and community service leaders and have the chance to learn from international experts in a 90 year old tradition of community organising.
You will learn skills that are in hot demand with advocacy and social change organisations. They are also may be the beginning of a vocation as a professional community organiser.
As part of a team of interns, you will develop leadership within your communities to win real employment outcomes for young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds in Brisbane.
This internship is unpaid, but all costs and expenses will be covered, including travel to Sydney for 6 days of residential national training in community organising from 31 July to 5 August.
Internships are for 6 months and are generally structured to fit with your current schedule of work and study. Applicants are interviewed by our organisers to ensure they are motivated and prepared to commit time to the program.
At the end of the internship, successful interns will be supported to find paid work in this field or develop the funding base to continue organising in a paid capacity in a local area.
There are 6 positions available, starting May/June 2016.
