Community BBQ Breakfast for Renewables in Gladstone
On Sunday 4 February at 9am we invite you to our Community BBQ Breakfast to kick start the year, and stand with others around the country to welcome renewable energy to our region.
In our conversations between unions, community groups, multicultural, and environmental groups last year we heard that people in Gladstone want to live in a thriving community, where we all have opportunity and a future.
The energy transition is underway, and we are on the path of becoming a cleaner, more secure, and independent country. We know the responsible development of large-scale renewable energy projects is vital for our community and the future of the Gladstone Region.
Renewable power in Gladstone means:
- sustainable energy so that businesses can stay here, and we can start new clean industries of the future.
- continuing jobs for local workers, so young people can continue to stay here.
- a safe climate for us all, so that our families, rivers, forests and wildlife can continue to thrive here for generations to come.
We have a choice to make now between whether to lean in and back a plan to maximise benefits for households, communities, and industry or to miss opportunities and be left behind.
We'll share some stories, have some bacon and eggs and get going for 2024!
**We acknowledge that we gather on the land of the First Nations Bailai, Gurang, Gooreng Gooreng, Taribelang Bunda People. We acknowledge their elders past and present. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal Land.**
