Community Dinner: How We Win Change for Our Community
You are invited to our Gladstone Region Community Dinner where we share our community agenda and plans for an organised, non-partisan community voice in the Queensland State Election.
This will be held at NEW BUILDING of Lionheart Inclusion, Training & Support Services, 2/2 Boowan Ct, Callemondah. If you put it into google maps, its located next to the AMPOL petrol station in a black building, on the same block. Keep an eye out for the pink flag out the front and QCA banner.
We know that the cost of living is higher than ever before, its difficult to find a secure house in Gladstone and we are worried about healthcare and access to specialists.
We want to ensure that we build strong ongoing relationships, have a say about what is happening in our Gladstone Region, and we want to use this moment to win tangible outcomes for our community on the things that matter most. Things such as:
- A new neighbourhood hub for Calliope
- A co-designed trial for a simpler patient travel subsidy scheme
- A portable accessible bathroom for community events
- Ensuring that any housing that is built during the construction of new infrastructure is converted into appropriate long-term housing for locals.
- $150,000 for a feasibility study for a health precinct in Gladstone.
- A community social prescribing approach in Gladstone
- An energy transition that doesn't leave anyone behind
To win commitments for issues like these, local union, community and environmental organisations have been working hard to figure out what's possible.
We invite you to come together to hear our community agenda and prepare to act together. At our Community Dinner we will be:
- Sharing stories with each other
- Sharing our policy platform for the Gladstone Region for the 2024 Queensland Election and our plans for action
- Sharing how we building power with similar communities to ours across the country so communities and people are at the heart of the energy transition.
If we are going to build people power for this State Election we will need as many people as we can on board.
Invite your friends! We look forward to seeing you there!
