Townsville Local Solutions Forum
Join leaders of the Townsville Community Alliance as they share positive solutions to the pressures being faced locally, building towards the creation of an Agenda for the Common Good in Townsville.
This event will bring together union, faith and community leaders from across Townsville. Together, we will listen to the stories of pressures people are facing, and then will share ideas and imagination for what solutions are possible locally.
Gather at 6:30 for a 7pm start.
Through our listening campaign, we heard themes around the cost of living; access to housing, services and public transport; social isolation and loneliness; crime and justice reform; racial vilification; climate impacts; the energy transition; and access to local quality jobs.
Local people have been involved in developing solutions in some of these areas, and this is your chance to be part of the action! On the night, we'll be running some mini-workshops on justice reform, improving early childhood outcomes, access to work and the energy transition, and connected communities.
Once we've generated some ideas and imagination for what we could do together, we will bring it all together, sharing commitments to have conversations in our organisations and communities over the coming months.
